August 1924: 18th Stockport Troop Boy Scouts. We have to congratulate our comrade, Second David Quinn, upon his attainment of the coveted rank of First Class Scout, and the added distinction of the ‘All-Round Cords’ awarded to a First Class Scout with six Proficiency Badges. Patrol-Leader Percy Clayton has also to be congratulated upon attaining his First Class, and as he holds five Proficiency Badges, it will certainly not be long before he, too, will be able to ‘sport the cords’. At the present time there are only six scouts in the Stockport Association entitled to wear these cords, and three of these are members of our Troop, the other two being Patrol Leaders Arthur and William Rodgers.
