15 November 1787: Bond by Joseph Simpson [signs] of Macclesfield, county Chester, silkthrowster and Thomas Wardle [signs] of Macclesfield button merchant to Samuel Boyer gentleman clerk of His Majesty’s court of record for the manor and forest of Macclesfield, in £100: for Simpson to appear at the next court to prosecute Francis Oldfield of Hurdsfield farmer for wrongfully taking and unjustly detaining two mares and four colts.
