Nether Alderley [orange, centre] surrounded (from the north, clockwise) by Chorley [blue], Alderley Edge [yellow], Wilmslow [pink], Over Alderley [blue], Birtles [yellow], Capesthorne [green], Chelford [blue], Marthall cum Warford [pink] and Great Warford [green]. Nether Alderley, Over Alderley and Great Warford formed the ancient ecclesiastical parish of Alderley. Chorley, Alderley Edge and Wilmslow were in the ancient ecclesiastical parish of Wilmslow. Birtles, Capesthorne and Chelford were in Prestbury; and Marthall cum [Little] Warford was in Over Peover chapelry of Rostherne.
