Hanover Chapel, Stockport, 1873

April 1925: Heaviley School: Sunday, March 8, was an ‘Open Day’ with us. The Reverend Charles Spence of Hanover Chapel gave the address, and his appropriate words, addressed more particularly to the scholars, will long be remembered. Miss Winifred Boothroyd added to the impressiveness of the service by a splendid rendering of “Thanks be to God” and “He was despised”. It was a most successful open service in every way.’
