Ancient parish in Essex archdeaconry of the diocese of London
Great Burstead [top right and bottom left] surrounded by (clockwise from the north) Buttsbury [orange], Ramsden Crays [green], Basildon [pink], Laindon [yellow], Little Burstead [orange], Hutton [yellow] and Mountnessing [pink]. These were all separate ancient ecclesiastical parishes, except for Basildon, a chapelry of Laindon.
