April 1925: Heaviley School: Sunday, March 8, was an ‘Open Day’ with us. The Reverend Charles Spence gave the address, and his appropriate words, addressed more particularly to the scholars, will long be remembered. Miss Winifred Boothroyd added to the impressiveness of the service by a splendid rendering of ‘Thanks be to God’ and ‘He was despised’.
